Dr. Lauren Schwarz earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University in 2007.  During her graduate training, she worked in the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center providing neuropsychological assessment services on an inpatient and outpatient basis.  She then completed an internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Psychiatry providing neuropsychological consultation services in a variety of settings including surgery, neurology, psychiatry, and VA medical center.  Dr. Schwarz was awarded the C.J. Rosecrans Award for the psychology intern demonstrating the most promise in the field of Clinical Psychology. 

Dr. Schwarz completed an Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN) sponsored fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago  under the direction of Neil Pliskin, Ph.D., ABPP-CN.

Dr. Schwarz’s clinical interests are in the provision of neuropsychological services to adults with a diverse range of presenting concerns including cognitive sequelae of neurologic conditions (such as, stroke, epilepsy, brain tumor, Parkinson’s disease, MS, etc.), suspected memory problems or dementia, traumatic brain injury, medical conditions affecting central nervous system functioning (e.g., liver disease, Lupus, HIV infection, or cardiac conditions), psychiatric conditions, attentional disorders, and learning disorders.  Dr. Schwarz’s research interests have included cognitive functioning in North American adults with Moyamoya Disease, visual memory and executive functioning in traumatic brain injury, and the assessment of feigned and/or exaggerated neurocognitive dysfunction.

Dr. Schwarz recently joined the faculty at Saint Louis University as an Assistant Professor of Neurology and is the Director of the Neuropsychology Division.  She currently sees patients through the Clinic in Monteleone Hall.  To contact Dr. Schwarz please call: 314-977-4965 or email: lschwa15@slu.edu.
